With two consecutive # 1 ARIA chart-topping singles ‘Shine’ and ‘Lift’ under his belt, Shannon Noll releases emotionally charged 3rd single ‘Now I Run’, the centrepiece of Shannon’s triple-platinum album ‘Lift’,that was written by Shannon for his father, who was killed in a farming accident in 2001. This powerful and poignant track has been a knock-out highlight of Shannon’s recent national tour, some fans even moved to tears by Shannon’s simple and heartfelt stripped-back delivery of the song – alone on stage with his acoustic guitar. It’s clear to anyone who spends even a little time with Shannon that his father remains a central figure in his life, and ‘Now I Run’ is a fitting, emotional tribute to the man who, sings Shannon, “Taught me to walk / Now I run”.
“It’s something that I never wanted to do before because I didn’t think I could do it well enough,” reveals Shannon. “The last thing I wanted was to do a half-hearted, crappy song about Dad because it’s such an important subject. But I’m proud of this song. I don’t think I could come up with anything better. When I was recording it, it just busted me up”
Australia’s Shannon Noll’s meteoric rise to fame has shown no signs of slowing down since the launch of his first smash single ‘What About Me’ on Australia Day 2004 and his debut album “That’s what I’m talking About” that went 5 times Platinum! The country lad singer from Condobolin with a rugged exterior but a soft centre won the hearts of the nation with his down to earth demeanor and phenomenal stage presence. His fast-rising rock stardom, contagious personality and infectious voice are comparable only to John Farnham and Jimmy Barnes in their prime. After garnering the MTV award for Best Male Artist and selling out three consecutive national tours, Shannon Noll has proved that he is here for the long haul.
