Frente won a place in the world’s hearts with a string of hit singles in the early 90s – Ordinary Angels, Accidentally Kelly Street, Labour of Love and their beautiful acoustic take on New Order’s Bizarre Love Triangle.

Their debut, Marvin the Album, was a massive international hit, selling over a million copies around the world. They also enjoyed considerable success with their follow-up album, Shape, a sophisticated mesh of acoustic instrumentation, technology and wonderful song writing. Along the way the band toured extensively around Australia and the world, hand-picked to play with the likes of Alanis Morissette, the Beautiful South and Everything But The Girl.

In 2004 Simon and Angie tentatively dipped their toes back in the musical pond together with some rapturously received shows in Los Angeles and New York. Angie and Simon took the plunge, alongside the wonderful rhythm section of Bill McDonald and Pete Luscombe, to play a completely sold out tour of Australia in early 2005 to glowing reviews. Each show was a corker!

Simon recently returned to Melbourne after being based in New York for years. He continues to do a whole bunch of musical things – including production and very complicated sonic logistic things which we lack the vocabulary to describe properly! Angie has also returned to her hometown of Melbourne after ten years away. In 2007 she released her debut solo album, Grounded Bird. The critically acclaimed album featured contributions from Ben Lee, Craig Ross (Texan producer of Patti Griffin, Spoon and Daniel Johnston), Dan Luscombe (The Drones) and Steve Hesketh (Jet). Angie has toured the country numerous times in support of the album to the delight of Frente acolytes and a whole new generation of fans.
