Dragon
Dragon are back, fronted by the legendary kiwi singer Mark Williams. This time around the band rocks its way through a long list of iconic songs that are part of the national estate. When you’re at a Dragon show you can’t help smiling and you can’t stop singing along with everyone else.
The band started in 1973 and this line up is one of the strongest ever. Bass player Todd Hunter is the original member of Dragon and reformed the band after a much needed hiatus of 10 years. Along with Mark he is joined by Bruce Reid, an accomplished Canadian guitar slinger and drum wizard Pete Drummond.
They all sing and you will too. Songs like April Sun In Cuba, Are You Old Enough, Rain, Speak No Evil, Young Years, This Time, Sunshine, Celebrate, Age Of Reason (which Todd and Johanna Pigott wrote for John Farnham) and many more. Mark Williams sings each song in a way that is familiar but completely his own.
Each song is a perfect encapsulation of its era and every night the band and the audience become as one and a cathartic good time is had by all.
