Dawn Collective, The www.thedawncollective.com
The Dawn Collective are a band that continually escape classification. Just when you think you’ve
got it worked out, along comes the next song, stretching beyond whatever genre you’ve just placed
them in. They’ve been described as orchestral acoustica, jazz infused jangly rock, and even baroque
indie pop – whatever you want to call them, they’re certainly not your standard rock band.
This winter the band is embarking on what will be their largest tour to date, heading out as the
special guests of Melbourne band Fourth Floor Collapse. To coincide with the tour, The Dawn
Collective are releasing The Russian Trilogy Demos; a limited edition EP containing three songs
recorded as the first stages of their forthcoming album.
This tour is just the latest run of shows in what has been a very busy year for the band. In recent
months they have performed at The Great Escape Festival, completed a co-headline tour with The
Fumes, and played several shows with The Red Paintings. Somewhere in there they’ve also had time
to work on new material, which will be debuted at the upcoming shows.
