Hailing from the north of England Amy Pearson is one of SonyBMG’s most exciting new young artist’s. With a story as unique as her vocal abilities and songwriting skills she is now ready to stun audiences with her debut album ‘Ready to Fly’.

Amy was first brought to the attention of SonyBMG by no other than Gary Barlow, front man for the legendary UK Boy Band ‘Take That’. Amy was signed at the tender age of 18 by A&R Guru David Massey (Anastasia/Good Charlotte/Lulu) and SonyBMGs Chairman/CEO Australia & New Zealand Mr. Denis Handlin.

Amy Pearson started singing at the age of 3!!! Her mother used to find her singing almost as soon as she could talk, with her first fore into songwriting being at age 6… She performed in numerous school plays and stage productions in her early years, but soon found the buzz of performing in bands and solo talent competitions too compelling to let go. By the age of 14 she had already won a host of singing competitions and was courted by her first professional music manager. She had the usual string of disappointments and opportunities afforded to young musicians but her luck slightly changed at 16, when the then production company she was signed to had a connection with Gary Barlow who immediately recognized Amy’s untapped Global potential and pointed her down the right road.

Her influences range from Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin to Mariah Carey, her voice has shades of Christina, Whitney and Mariah whilst still managing to be unique and unquestionably honest… Amy’s songs are almost an audio reflection of moments in her unique journey. She has the ability to evoke extreme emotion through her words and melodies, but is not ashamed to belt out a big in your face pop track that will have you up and dancing with the whole family. Her signature ballads show the great range of her voice and the sincerity she carries with her in all parts of her life.

Over the last 2 years come to call Australia home but has traveled the globe writing and recording her album. Which is a pop/rock/soul hybrid fusing all that’s seems good in popular music. She has written or co-written every track on the album with world class writers including Lindy Robbins/Reed Vertelney, Matthew Gerard, Wayne Rodriguez/Danielle Brisboise, Tom Nicholls/Tim Baxter/Klaus Derendorf, Steve Chrisanthou and Australia’s own DNA.

“I always wanted to write and record and album that took the listener on a real musical journey, and an album that I would personally go out and buy. I think people my age around the world from all walks of life, will be able to identify with the songs and emotions we managed to capture, whilst making this record”. Amy said. “Ready to Fly is kind of how I feel after being locked in the studio for so long!!! I just can’t wait to get out there and perform, to people and see what they think. I hope they will love it as much as I do and it’s going to be fun finding out.”

The first single will be released to media February 2007 followed with the album release of ‘Ready to Fly’ late 2007. Stay tuned and join Amy on the next stage of her fantastic journey, for more info and details of upcoming gigs go to www.myspace.com/amysonybmg
