Walking into their first full-length debut with new label Rapido in 2004, it was decided early on that After the Fall should not release any singles but purely make albums. It’s an ‘old school Rock ethic’ type thing that seems to be a running theme with this band. After the Fall are as much influenced by The Angels, AC/DC or Midnight Oil as they are by their modern day Punk Rock contemporaries and this is what defines their distinctive sound.

After the Fall ‘s self-titled album released on June 27 2004, was one of the most anticipated Australian debut rock releases of the year, and throughout 2004 the band have gained snowballing media support, with such things as JJJ album of the week and ‘A’ rotation on Channel [V], to MMM rotation ATB down the east coast for ‘Mirror Mirror’. But in the end its the fans that are the biggest testimony of a bands popularity, and with over 4,000 kids on the After the Fall street team after 6 months and the band constantly appearing in video and music polls throughout the year, After the Fall are positioned to be a force to be reckoned with in 2005. After The Fall’s debut came in as one of the Top 50 Albums of 2004 in RollingStone magazines “Year Book” issue.

After The Fall also came in at the Number 1 position on the Triple Radio’s Short.Fast.Loud top 40 Albums of 2004.

After The Fall also made it into the Triple J Hottest 100 with the first single “Mirror Mirror” The band finished off the year on the live front playing main stage at the sold out Homebake Festival in December 2004 In March 05 After The Fall travelled to the USA to play at the SXSW Music Festival in Austin Texas. The band played 5 shows in 4 days. The first showcase at Sake on 6th St had every US A&R in the room and the band is now in talks with Labels and Agency’s worldwide.
